Visual Arts: Frances Benjamin Johnston Photographs
Join us on Friday, March 1 at 5:30pm in Upstairs Gallery 1 for the grand opening of a gallery exhibition of Frances Benjamin Johnston (January 15, 1864 – May 16, 1952), an early American photographer and photo journalist.
In celebration of National Women’s History month, the exhibition focuses on a series of 13 photographs she took in Madison in 1939 documenting 7 antebellum homes and one church as part of the Carnegie Survey of the Architecture of the South. On display March through May 2024.
Visual Arts: Emily Jenkins Followill Photography
Emily Jenkins Followill brings her first professional photography exhibit to the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center! Embracing History: The Beauty of the Land & Spaces of the South is on display now through May 10, 2024.
Through her 25 years of creating images for interior designers, architects, and landscape architects throughout the South and beyond, Emily shares images which capture an appreciation for the beauty of the past with an eye for the present. The light and style in her photographs highlight historic design and today’s designers’ adaptations and enhancements.
Chamber Music Festival: Galvin Cello Quartet

Chamber Music Festival: Art & Music in the Life of Steffen Thomas
As a part of the 22nd Annual Madison Chamber Music Festival, join us on Thursday, May 2, 2023 at 7:30pm at the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art for a program of music inspired by the life and art of Steffen Thomas, including songs from Schumann that Thomas references in his art as well as songs from the soundtrack of “Steffen Thomas: Rock & Chisel”, composed by David Kirkland Garner.

Chamber Music Festival: Morgan County MS & HS Jazz Band
Under the leadership of renowned band director, Jeffrey Rowser, Director of Bands at Morgan County High School and Karisa Seymour, Morgan County Middle School Director, the combined High School and Middle School Madison Morgan County Jazz Band will perform in MMCC historic auditorium. Tickets are $20.00, Students are FREE.
The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center will donate half of all ticket sale proceeds to the Morgan County Band Program.
2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Join the Easter Bunny on March 24th (Palm Sunday) at 2 pm for a fun-filled Easter Egg Hunt on the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center’s Front Lawn! There will be 3 separate age groups (0-3, 4-6, 7 to 10 years) hunting for Easter eggs and vying for the chance to find the GOLDEN egg, a coveted top prize!
Remember to bring your basket. After the egg hunt, everyone is welcome to enjoy lemonade and cookies with the Easter Bunny. It’s going to be an “Egg-cellent, Egg-straordinary, and Egg-citing” event for the whole family!

John Lewis Series: Paintings by Benny Andrews Program
Behind the story and the beautiful art lies another story – the rich friendship of Benny Andrews and John Lewis.
Join us on Sunday, February 18th from 2- 4pm for a opening program for The John Lewis Series: Paintings by Benny Andrews in the MMCC Auditorium.
An exhibit featuring 17 paintings by Benny Andrews depicting the life of late U.S Congressman John Lewis and the Civil Rights Movement. They appeared in John Lewis in the Lead: A Story of the Civil Rights Movement by Jim Haskins and Kathleen Benson, a prize-winning book published in 2006 for young readers.

9th Annual “Do Tell!” Storytelling Festival
The 9th Annual “Do Tell” Storytelling Festival will be returning to the Cultural Center this year! If you like a good story with a side of laughter, plan to join us on Friday, February 9th, 2024.
This year’s Storytelling Festival will feature the talents of Carol Cain, our Emcee, Antonio Rocha, and Andy Offutt Irwin. These tellers will be bringing their comical and heart-warming tales that will bring joy to your soul.
Youth Music Competition
The Youth Music Competition, as a part of the Annual Madison Chamber Music Festival, is a free to the public competition featuring talented young musicians from across the state of Georgia.
In partnership with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Talent Development Program as well as other noted youth organizations to audition gifted young competitors from 4th grade to 11th grade.
The competition will be held across several sessions during the day, and all competitors will be judged by a panel of expert judges.
Student Series: Mario the Magician

A seasonal supergroup of local talent spearheaded by Sam Burchfield and his wife, Pip the Pansy, both internationally recognized artists, along with husband and wife duo, Cicada Rhythm from Athens, Ga.
Join us on Friday, December 8th, in the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center’s Hall on Foster for an exciting and festive concert featuring well-known favorites from Vince Guaraldi and Burl Ives to deep holiday cuts from Paul McCartney, Chuck Berry, and Marvin Gaye.

The Andrews Family Legacy: Rooted in the Agriculture and Arts of Morgan County
The MMCC is celebrating and honoring the artistic and literary contributions of the Andrews Family, including George ‘Dot Man’, Benny, and Raymond Andrews with a permanent exhibit on its second floor.
The John Lewis Series: Paintings by Benny Andrews
Alongside the opening of the Andrews Family Legacy Gallery will be the opening of the ‘John Lewis Story”, a collection of 17 paintings by noted artist and activist Benny Andrews depicting the life and legacy of late US Congressman John Lewis. On loan from the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.
Mainstage: A.D. Blanco
We are excited to welcome A.D. Blanco to the historic Madison-Morgan Cultural Center theatre for an exciting Mainstage Concert on Thursday, September 21st, 2023 at 7:30pm. The versatile rock band from Athens, GA released their latest studio project, April’s Fool, two months ago, and have been touring the south east on-and-off since March, now adding a stop right here in frontman Bennett Evans’ hometown of Madison, GA.

Teresa Bramlette Reeves, artist and curator, presents her newest visual arts exhibition titled “she didn’t really follow a rabbit down the hole, but she thought it was a good story.” at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center. A reflection of aging and the forced changes of getting older, this exhibit will be on display at the Cultural Center through early December 2023.

Menaboni's Birds: Paintings by Athos Menaboni
We are excited to welcome the opening of a stunning collection of 16 paintings by Athos Menaboni (1895-1990) - one of Georgia’s most prominent artists. The exhibition will run from June 27th through July 29th.
The guest curator, Russell Clayton, will be holding a FREE Curator’s Talk on Saturday, July 15th at 11AM in the MMCC Auditorium.
This exhibition is dedicated to Arnold Hoge - a Madison resident and nephew of Sara Arnold Menaboni, wife of the artist.

22nd Annual Madison Antiques Show & Sale
It’s our 22nd year and we are getting ready for another great show! This year’s Antiques Show and Sale will feature over 20 dealers from across the nation who will be displaying the best in American antiques and accessories predominantly from the South. The Quebe Sisters are an American swing revival band based in Dallas, Texas, who perform a mix of progressive western swing, jazz-influenced swing, country, Texas-style fiddling, and western music.

Nashville country musician Eric Dodd hosts Masters of Songwriting, a concert featuring two of Georgia’s most prominent songwriters, Randall Bramblett and Shawn Mullins. The concert will be held in the MMCC Auditorium at 7:30pm following the conclusion of the Masters Golf Tournament! Tickets are $75 and are available now for purchase.

Join the Easter Bunny on April 2nd (Palm Sunday) at 1pm for a fun-filled Easter Egg Hunt on the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center’s Front Lawn!
