About the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center
For more than 50 years, the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center has been a place where art, history, education, and community come together. Housed in a beautifully preserved historic school building in the heart of Madison, Georgia, the Cultural Center invites visitors of all ages to discover inspiring exhibitions, live performances, educational programs, festivals, and cultural experiences throughout the year.
Whether you're exploring our galleries, attending a concert, taking a class, or simply visiting one of Georgia's most remarkable historic landmarks, every visit offers an opportunity to learn, connect, and be inspired.
Our Story
The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center is located inside the historic Madison Graded School, a stunning Romanesque Revival building completed in 1895. When the school faced demolition in the 1970s, members of the community came together to preserve this architectural treasure and reimagine it as a place dedicated to arts, history, and lifelong learning.
Since opening its doors as a cultural center, MMCC has become one of the region's leading nonprofit arts organizations, serving residents and visitors through nationally recognized exhibitions, live performances, educational programming, community festivals, and historic preservation.
Today, the building continues to fulfill its original purpose as a place of learning, discovery, and community, welcoming thousands of visitors each year.
Our Mission
The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center is a multi-disciplinary non-profit institution that endeavors to enrich the lives of the residents of its immediate community and the broader region by presenting high-quality programming and educational opportunities in the fields of visual and performing arts, history, and other humanities. MMCC will preserve and interpret its historic buildings and will cooperate with other organizations that have mission-compatible goals.
