Audience members and performers alike shared a unique experience on Monday, May 9, 2022 as they celebrated the finale of the 2022 Madison Chamber Music Festival as well as the role of the late Christopher Rex, founder and Artistic Director of the festival for the past 20 years.

Join us in honoring our beloved MMCC’s Artistic Director of Madison Chamber Music Festival in a night of Musical Fireworks. This dazzling performance is brought to you by nine talented musicians, representing five award-winning ensembles— together on our stage for one night only.

The world of music lost a true artist and lover of beauty with the passing of Christopher Rex on March 22. And the Madison Cultural Center lost the Founder and Artistic Director of the Madison Chamber Music Festival and our good friend.

Grammy-winning fiddlers Mark and Maggie O’Conner and the Vega String Quartet grace the MMCC Auditorium for a magical night to remember.

Balsam Range delighted and impressed as they performed to a sold out crowd at the Madison Municipal Airport.

One of the genre’s most award-winning artists in recent years, Balsam Range have garnered 13 International Bluegrass Music Association Awards on the heels of 8 critically acclaimed albums. Balsam Range has headlined major festivals from coast to coast and appeared multiple times at the Grand Ole Opry.

Since winning the First Prize in the 1986 Naumburg International Cello Competition, Andrés Diaz has exhilarated both critics and audiences with his intense and charismatic performances.

Multiple Grammy Award-winner and MacArthur Fellow Chris Thile, a member of Punch Brothers, is a mandolin virtuoso, composer, and vocalist.

Their cutting-edge modern bluegrass is delivered with a deep knowledge of, and admiration for, the work of the music’s founding fathers. It’s a unique sound that has earned three Grammy® nominations and two Entertainer of the Year awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association.

Masterfully blending American musical genres like gospel, jazz, blues, and country, Rhiannon Giddens showcases her extraordinary emotional range and dazzling vocal prowess. Giddens is the co-founder of the GRAMMY award-winning string band Carolina Chocolate Drops, in which she also plays banjo and fiddle. Rhiannon Giddens is a 2017 recipient of the MacArthur Foundation Genius Grant.

On Friday, May 1, 2015 Madison-Morgan Cultural Center presented a Madison Chamber Music Festival performance by Trumpet Invasion (Virtuoso trumpeter, Brandon Ridenour and his father, Rich - pianist and international Steinway artist) in MMCC's Theatre.

On Friday, May 5, 2017 Madison-Morgan Cultural Center presented a Madison Chamber Music Festival performance by Jelly, Rags & Monk in MMCC's Theatre.
