Guide to the 2023 Spring Tour of Homes & Gardens

Welcome to the Spring Tour of Homes & Gardens! Here is a helpful guide for those who may be attending the Tour.

Check -In

Everyone will need to check-in at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center (Tour Headquarters) located at 434 South Main Street, Madison, GA 30650 before embarking on the tour. Once you arrive at the MMCC, you will be given your tour sticker, which serves as your admittance to the homes, and your tour map. Check-in for the Day Tours begins at 10am, but you can check-in anytime during tour hours.

Tour Hours & Information

The Spring Tour of Homes & Gardens is on April 14 & 15, 2023. The Tour Hours are from 10 AM to 4 PM. Please note that this is a self-guided walking tour that you may complete at your leisure; please make sure to plan accordingly based on your needs. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and plan clothing based on weather forecasts.

Parking

Please allow time to park when picking up tickets. There is a parking lot located behind the Center and one block down the street across from the Methodist and Baptists churches on Main St. If you have any questions, please call the Center at 706-342-4743. If you drive to get closer to locations, please park in the designated parking lots which will be marked on the tour map and do not block driveways or intersections.

Tour of Homes Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • There will be 6 private homes and 1 garden featured on the 2023 Spring Tour of Homes & Gardens.

  • The Daytime Tour will feature: The Jessup-Atkinson-Lindsey, ca. 1819, The Joshua Hill, ca. 1840, The Massey House, ca. 1904, The Palmer House, ca. 1891, and The White-Lyle House, ca. 1900, The Wickland House, ca. 2007, The Gardens at Blackbird Hill, ca. 1837.

  • Yes, the same line-up of houses will be featured on both Friday and Saturday’s tour.

  • The Day Tour will be on both Friday, April 14th, and Saturday, April 15th from 10 AM - 4 PM.

  • All of the homes on this year’s Spring Tour of Homes & Gardens are within walking distance from the Cultural Center. Many of the homes are within a block from the Cultural Center with the furthest house (House 3) being about a 10-15 min walk’s distance.

    However, should you need to drive to get closer to the houses, there are lots of parking options available as well. Please refer to your tour map to see a detailed outline of the parking available during the Tour of Homes. Please park in designated areas - avoid blocking driveway, intersections, and narrow streets.

    We ask that if you are capable of walking, please do so and allow those with mobility issues to have access to parking.

  • Parking for the Spring Tour of Homes & Gardens will be available at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center, the First United Methodist Church, and the Madison Baptist Church as well as at many other parking locations designated on the tour map.

  • Yes, you may use your Tour Sticker on both days if you so choose. If you plan to do this, please remember to keep your sticker from the first day as you will not be able to get another sticker without purchase.

  • Restrooms are available at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center (Tour HQ), The Convention Visitor Bureau and also at Town Park. You will not be able to use the restrooms inside the homes on the tour.

  • The Spring Tour of Homes is a rain or shine event. In the event of rain, please plan to bring an umbrella and to dress accordingly.

  • The MMCC does not coordinate lunch reservations for the Spring Tour of Homes. We recommend that if you and your group plan to eat at any of the establishments in Downtown Madison to make a reservation ahead of time.

    However, two of Madison’s downtown restaurants, Ricardo’s Kouzzina and Madison ChopHouse Grille are offering pre-paid to-go boxed lunches for Spring Tour of Homes attendees through April 11th.
