Sean of the South: Storyteller

Stories, Songs & the Soul of the American South

Spend an evening with Sean Dietrich, better known as Sean of the South, as he brings his signature blend of storytelling, music, humor, and Southern charm to the historic theatre at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center.

A celebrated columnist, novelist, musician, and stand-up storyteller, Sean Dietrich has built a devoted following with his heartfelt and often hilarious stories about everyday life in the American South. His writing has appeared in Newsweek, Southern Living, Reader's Digest, and Garden & Gun, and his weekly column appears in newspapers across the country. He is also the author of eighteen books and has performed on the Grand Ole Opry.

For this special evening at MMCC, Sean will share original songs and stories inspired by growing up in the South, weaving together humor, music, nostalgia, and the wonderfully complicated characters and moments that make Southern life so memorable.

An Evening of Southern Storytelling

Sean of the South has a knack for finding extraordinary stories in ordinary places. His performances celebrate the people, places, memories, and small moments that connect us all.

Whether you’re a longtime reader of Sean’s work or discovering his storytelling for the first time, this intimate evening of live music and stories is a chance to experience the voice of the American South in person.

Come for the stories. Stay for the songs. Leave with a few new stories of your own.
