Madison-Morgan Cultural Center & Morgan County Landmarks Society proudly present, Tales of School in the First Half of the 20th Century, Morgan County, Georgia, as told by the students. In this video, 31 Morgan County residents tell humorous, educational and pensive tales of schooldays here in the first half of the 20th Century. From 19 schools scattered throughout the county, the former students share memories of youthful shenanigans, their teachers, the building, and the joys of lunchtime. These short clips were gleaned from oral histories video-recorded during 2008-2009 by the Morgan County Resource Preservation Advisory Board. Morgan County Archives provided several historic documents and photographs, which enhanced and added context to the stories. Patsy Harris, co-creator of the Museum Highlights series for the Cultural Center, edited the clips and created Tales of School.
