Rushing

Cedar Lane Farm, c. 1830, 3790 Sandy Creek Rd.

This home is featured in the April, 2009, issue of The Magazine Antiques.  Cedar Lane Farm is a beautifully restored Georgia farmhouse surrounded by extensive gardens, including woodland, herb, parterre, and mixed border gardens.   Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it has been called one of the best restorations in the state. 

 

Wayside Farm, c. 1988, 3500 Fairplay Road

This New England contemporary country refuge contains a stunning view of ponds, forests, and horses and is full of both antique family pieces and reproductions

Stoke Farm, 1050 Sowhatchet Road

Built in 1994, Stoke Farm was designed by I. M. Pei partner Steven Elmets.  The exterior is traditional Greek Revival/Italianate style; the interior is an efficient blending of modernism and functionality.  The house and garden sit on two acres while the entire farm covers 130 acres complete with orchard and vegetable garden

 

MadHouse

Mad House, 358 Johnson Street

This home was built in the Folk Victorian style, a popular style from 1870 - 1910.  The current owners have remodeled it extensively, strictly following the architectural code for the Madison historic district.
