Following one man’s personal quest to defend what he believes to be his inalienable rights, BARBERSHOP PUNK examines the critical issues surrounding the future of the American Internet and what it takes to challenge the status quo. The film will be shown at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center on October 25, 2011 as part of the Southern Circuit of Independent Filmmakers presented by South Arts. Somebody Else, Somewhere Else; The Raymond Andrews Story
2:00 pm screening followed by a post-screening discussion and reception with
filmmaker, Jesse Freeman
The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center, partnering with the Morgan County African-American Museum, presents Somebody Else, Somewhere Else; The Raymond Andrew Story. This film features archival footage of interviews with the writer, Raymond Andrews, as well as original interviews with his friends, family members and literary experts. The film includes an interview with Raymond’s brother, Benny Andrews, who was a world-renowned visual artist. Benny and Raymond shared a close but complicated relationship that informed each of their bodies of work. Other interviewees include novelists Philip Lee Williams, Terry Kay, Tony Grooms, Richard Bausch and Gary Gildner. The film will be shown at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 2 PM.
